In order to give height to a sail roof penetrations are often used. A roof post is secured into the structural elements of the building and waterproofed before tiles are returned into place. The sail is then attached to the posts creating a feeling of space under the sail. Water can flow over the sail or back into the roof guttering depending on the situation.
