A large claw structure over an ampitheatre at a Sydney school can provide shading for fifty people. It is supported by only one post and balanced by a slight tilt in the post and the inclusion of support stainless steel cables and outriggers. The deep green shade cloth and aubergine coloured postwork are an effective cooling colour combination.
