Once again Abacus Shade Structures has proved it is the leading shade structure company in the state after winning yet another National Industry Award. At a glittering event on the Gold Coast Queensland where more than 5,000 textile industry representatives attended SuperExpo19, Abacus Shade Structures took out the Australian Specialised Textiles Association Award in the most hotly contested award category – Shade Structure to 250sm.

This award continues an unbroken record of award winningr shade structures since 2006. No other shade structure company withing 1,000kms has has such a record streak.

Eric Moonen, the Director of Abacus Shade Structures was overjoyed. He paid tribute to the loyal team at Abacus who contributed to this fabulous result. “It is testament to the skills that are available right here in Australia and in Western Sydney”. He said, “It was a complex and innovative project which made me rethink shade structure design in a new way. At Abacus we think outside the box and relish innovation. Not keeping still he is already working on the next challenge for the 2020 awards”

Three unique hexagonal tension structures of 40sm each add innovation and style to a new playground in Sydney. The client Ryde Council, is developing magnificent playgrounds. This playground incorporates cutting edge shade structures, gardens, play equipment & massive skating bowls. Clearly Council is supporting their community with such initiatives to support local youth.

Eric Moonen said  “We knew we were onto a good thing when other tradies working on the playground stopped to admire and photograph the structures.” The PVC membrane is Valmex Mehatop N in white with white painted steel posts and stainless steel fittings.
