Centre, Bringelly

The purpose of the project was to construct a sun and rain proof structure for religious services on an island pontoon. It is an attractive peaceful area in landscaped grounds.

The existing pontoon island had to support the shade structure which weighed 2 tonnes and imposed a load of 21kgs/sm. Minimal load was be placed on the man-made island and engineering confirmed a the lightweight structure would be supported.

Most of the structure was positioned using a crane located on the grassed area. In addition, steel plates were connected to steel girders on the underside of the pontoon from a boat.
