Western Sydney International

Dragway, Eastern Creek.

A shadecloth structure of 100m x 15m was built at the Western Sydney International Dragway to shade a grandstand and protect drag car enthusiasts from the sun and stifling summer on race day events.

Posts were kept to a minimum and to the rear of the structures so as not to impede views or movement of people. From an OHS perspective posts needed to be located away from emergency exit rows. This was achieved by placing posts to the rear of the grandstand. A cantilevered shade structure design achieved this.
