Paperbark All Abilities

Playground, Parramatta Park

The Shade Structures built in Paperback Parl All Abilities Playground in historic Parramatta Park has so many features. The design represents represent convict huts found on this site. Recycled timber hardwood and natural coloured PVC mesh “huts” are built on porous raised concrete footings which protect both the old paperbark trees and archaeology on this site.

Playground equipment reminiscent of earlier times is accessible for children of all abilities to play and learn about history in this very unique community space.

This was a joint NSW State Government and Parramatta Council community project.
